HEADMASTER'S WELCOME

A very warm welcome to St Hugh’s Prep Connect.

Education is one of the most valuable gifts that parents can give a child; the lifelong benefits of a good foundation are clear for us all to use. St Hugh’s has long taken the view that when someone becomes part of our community, they are a part of it for life. We are very keen to keep in touch with all former pupils, parents, and staff from St Hugh's and to continually engage with them all as regularly as they would like. There are many reasons for this but at the heart of it is a desire to make our community stronger. St Hugh’s is a very well-travelled school, but although the buildings are of the utmost importance to us and our memories, it is the people who really matter. We are always keen to celebrate the successes of those who have gone before; however, we also see links with our community as being a forward-looking pursuit. It is a chance to support and celebrate future successes, and it is a chance for alumni to support the next generation. The publication of stories of endeavour and success that motivate and inspire, combined with the possibility of mentorship, work-experience, or even (dare I mention it) supporting bursaries for future generations who otherwise could not afford an independent education are incredibly valuable.

So, please do join Prep Connect. Find out what is happening in education and at St Hugh’s specifically. Contribute to and read about the lives that our children, parents, and staff have enjoyed, and, most importantly, come back and visit. 2025 and 2026 are two years of great celebration. If you can’t work out why, do come into school to meet me and I will be delighted to explain all.
